I’m a full-stack engineer in Nairobi. I trained at DirectEd Development and now build at Tison.io, their consultancy arm, which mostly means I get handed products that don’t exist yet and asked to make them real. Ten of them so far.
The work I’m proudest of is unglamorous. At Cleverguide.ai I wrote 88% of the backend commits, and the part I’d actually show you is the test suite: 213 tests behind a coverage gate that blocks the merge, because the recommendation engine was the kind of thing that breaks quietly. At LegalRescue.ai I built the auth and the Stripe billing, where the price changes depending on which counties an attorney picks. That one took a few attempts to get right.
I’m open to remote roles and to relocating. UTC+3, so I overlap with Europe all day and catch the US morning.

Projects
Cleverguide.ai
Education platform that recommends universities, courses, and countries to students based on their profile. I owned the NestJS backend: the REST API, the test suite, the PDF report each student gets at the end, and the matcher that decides which reading to surface for them.
- 88% of backend commits
- 21 REST endpoints
- 213 tests, 80% coverage gate
LegalRescue.ai
Legal tech platform that matches attorneys with clients so they can skip the marketing. I joined before launch, so I got to make the early calls: Cognito auth across three providers, Stripe billing that prices by county and practice area, and an 8-stage case workflow with conflict-of-interest checks built in.
- 3 auth providers
- All 3,100+ US counties
- 8-stage case workflow
Study RAG Assistant
PersonalAsk questions about your own notes and get answers that quote the source back at you. It says so when your documents do not cover something, which sounds minor until you have used a tool that guesses instead. Follow-ups work too: it rewrites them into standalone queries before searching.
- Source-cited answers
- 3 LLM providers
- YAML-tunable prompts
Spendie
PersonalPersonal finance app built for Kenya. Log expenses by hand, let GPT-4 sort them into categories and suggest a budget, and talk to it out loud when typing feels like too much effort.

Full Stack Engineer
Tison.io
August 2024 — Present
Consultancy arm of DirectEd Development, building products for early-stage startups.
Backend Engineer
Cleverguide.ai
October 2025 — February 2026
Education consulting platform that helps students and their families work out where to study. It takes a student profile and returns university, course, city, and country recommendations, then packages the whole thing into a report they can take away.
Full Stack Engineer
LegalRescue.ai
August 2024 — October 2025
Legal tech platform that brings clients to attorneys so they do not have to market themselves. Cases move through a staged workflow with conflict checks along the way. Built from an empty repo; still pre-launch when I left.
